Individual Disability Insurance

Plan for unexpected disruptions to your income.

Financial security with confidence

Life can change in an instant and it’s important to be able to protect yourself and your loved ones when unexpected events happen. Individual disability insurance helps protect you when these adverse events happen. Having the ability to work and earn a living is a valuable part of who you are. Let us help protect your income in case of a debilitating injury so that you can focus on what matters – getting better, being with your family, and planning your future.

For physicians, disability insurance is crucial to protect your income and all that you have invested to get where you are in your career. Copic Financial can help by determining adequate coverage to ensure your family, your assets, and your overall lifestyle are properly covered. We work with a variety of trusted carriers to choose a customized plan that enables optimal peace of mind.

The types of plans we offer

Individual Disability Income

Tied to any financial loss of income due to disability, this covers up to $20,000 of tax-free benefit, occupation-specific protection, and a provision to increase future coverage without medical qualification. Copic-insured customers are eligible for a 20% discount, and our gender-neutral rates save females up to 45%.

Individual Disability Overhead

Ongoing practice expenses can’t be disregarded if you’re out of work due to sickness or accident. This coverage keeps your practice and staff financially stable while you’re recovering. Premiums are tax-deductible, and include up to $50,000/month benefit, property payments up to $1,000,000 (payable for up to 10 years), accounting and legal services, utilities, and other fixed expenses.

Disability-Retirement Security

If you’re planning ahead for retirement, an unexpected disability shouldn’t disrupt your savings. We can help you explore your options to cover a greater percentage of your income so that Social Security contributions, employer-sponsored 401(k) contributions, and accrued pension benefits aren’t affected.

Understanding the complexity of employee benefit plans is a challenge, even for the most experienced benefits manager. Employers need to remain up-to-date on trends, laws, and regulations that constantly change. COPIC Financial will help you address and understand the most complex benefit topics, as well as provide the right solutions.

COPIC Financial has collaborated with the Colorado Medical Society and Delta Dental of Colorado to offer our members an association plan: where small groups join together to form one large group plan. The plan can start with two enrolled participants and be employer paid or employee paid.

An inexpensive option, yet very important to have as part of your benefit offering.

COPIC Financial specializes in disability programs for physicians and physician groups. We understand the complexities of this benefit and can customize the right solution for your practice.

COPIC Financial collaborates with a local PEO that offers an a la carte approach for your needs. Comprehensive coverage designed for a small- to medium-sized business owner in one cost-effective package. From property improvements and vehicle use to loss due to lawsuits, theft, or accident, this coverage will encompass all the basics for quality protection.
